Are the HUMAC NORM Extremity Systems new equipment?

Yes, CSMi manufactures every custom part for every new HUMAC NORM Extremity System.  Naturally, off-the-shelf items such as screws, motors, and computers are sourced from vendors. We also offer refurbished CYBEX NORM Systems upgraded with the HUMAC Computer / Software System.

What is the lead time for delivery of a machine?

Typical lead-time is 6 to 8 weeks based on demand, customer location, and custom requirements. In situations where a customer needs immediate delivery we do our best to accommodate their needs, as production allows.

What is the warranty on the HUMAC NORM?

Due to the robust design and quality manufacturing process, coupled with our confidence in our product, the HUMAC NORM Extremity System is covered by a one year warranty. Extended warranties are available.

Can I update to the latest software?

The HUMAC NORM Extremity System includes the HUMAC Software. At CSMI our software is always backwards compatible with all of the CYBEX Extremity Systems. You will never have to replace a machine you already own with a new machine just to get our latest HUMAC Software.

How is the HUMAC NORM chair configuration superior to the other designs?

The HUMAC NORM chair / dynamometer configuration was designed and released in 1995, after extensive study of the industry standard design of T-base and elbow-based machines with tethered computer carts. Our engineers and product specialists developed the superior and patented sliding chair / fixed dynamometer configuration with integrated computer system.

Does the HUMAC NORM include a manual front panel?

No. Manually operated front panels are hold-over designs from the early 1980's when faith in computers was not as high. Additionally, there is nothing a manual front panel can do that a well designed software package can't do better. We anticipate front panel designs will disappear.

Why does the HUMAC NORM have adjustable mechanical Range-of-Motion stops?

Range-of-Motion stops are in place for safety. The HUMAC NORM's adjustable ROM stops allow the user to match the machine allowable ROM to the patients ROM. This is especially important for patients with limited ROM. Fixed ROM stops only provide protection for patients with the maximum ROM. Patients with limited ROM have NO protection until they exceed their ROM and hit the fixed mechanical stop located at the end of the ROM for the average patient. For example, an ACL patient with 70 ROM, HUMAC NORM allows the operator to set the ROM stops at 70 degrees. Other systems have one setting - 120 degrees.
